The term HORTICULTURE is derived from two Latin words - ―


HORTUS meaning - "GARDEN‟
CULTURA" meaning - "CULTIVATION‟




Definition 

Horticulture is a science and technique of production, processing and merchandizing of fruits,vegetables, flowers, spices, plantations, medicinal and aromatic plants.

Temperate Fruit crops

Fruit crops that are adapted climatically only to low temperature/chilling regions called temperate regions

Apple , Pear , Plum , Peach , Walnut , Apricot , Almond . Cherry , Strawberry , Pecanut

Tropical fruits crops

Tropical crops are crops that are adapted to the tropical climate prevailing at the tropics.

Examples of Tropical fruit crops are :

Mango , Banana ,  Papaya , Pineapple , Guava , Sapota , Custard apple , Jackfruit , Carambola , Persimon , Cashew , Coconut
